so now i've got a christmas sized hangover and a gap in my memory of last night you could drive a school bus through. rachel gave me a lightswitch cover she made for christmas.. my aunt and uncle sue and richard gave me one of those drawing pads you use a paintbrush and water on and then the picture fades away as it dries. both nice presents, both thoughtful and cool. and I appreciate them, but the drawing pad is very much a living room table kind of item, and the lightswitch cover is something you use to decorate. both predicated on having a space to call your own. but I don't have a home to put them in and probably won't for a long time. I'm fed up with the demands of stationary existence, ready to trade them for the demands of a wandering artists life. I'm taking care of a few loose ends here in chico and then I'm off to the life I've been wanting: art shows in strange towns, friends couches, meeting new people, adventure, sleeping in my car.. that type of thing.
but the lightswitch cover is awesome. "it's a monkey putting on makeup! and i know you love monkeys!" says rachel. we have a running joke about monkeys. whenever we comment on a painting we always say it would be better if there was just more white in it(usually true) and some monkeys. maybe some sandwiches. not enough people paint monkeys ad sandwiches.
so if anyone saw me last night I'd like a report on my activities!
